i think the samsung might be a better option if you can find one on sale

a450 32 inch model is a great bedroom tv and plays ps3 etc beautifully. only downfall is the speakers are pretty poor so you might want some cheap 2.0 computer speakers and you are good to go.

1. Ignore the idiots.
2. This is actually a good deal on a 32" M-series Sony. The Sony M-series was top rated by Consumer Reports. It's probably "too good" for a play room, although at that price it's OK. Note that the models on offer all have "off-colour" cabinets, i.e. not the standard black.
3. See 1.

Still only a luke-warm deal at best. The Samsung a450 was better rated by CNET and is largely favoured by the AVS crowd. Now if it dropped to $500, that's a good deal.

Decent deal in that it's the lowest I've seen on this TV, but it's the same price as the Samsung which is reviewed slightly better. At least it's better than the Sony L4000.

The Brick has it for $598. FYI, this is a hot deal ... this is below cost. If you find it anywhere else for cheaper, it's because they're selling even further below cost and are probably going to try and make it up by selling you something else with it.

1. It's refurbished.
2. "We regret to inform you that we're NOT taking any more pre-orders on this TV as we have too many orders to fulfill."

I believe this is more expensive, but comparable to the XBR model:
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10115003&catid=

This was a low as $649 before.

A discussion about this TV and feedback is here:

The key thing here is contrast ratio: 25000:1 on the Future Shop TV vs. 9000:1 on the Source TV.

Not sure. I think it was part of the Jan Clearance. I figure with Superbowl around the corner, there should be sales soon.

I like this model, missed it last time at $650, when will be next sales?I bought the KDL32VL140 for $650 last week at Future Shop. The store nearest me was sold out two weeks ago when it was $650. They received more stock last week but jacked up the price to $750. I told them that I wanted to buy it while it was $650 but it was OOS. They sold it to me for $650 without any bother. (I could have bought the display model for $600 but they couldn't find the remote control and the other accessories.)
