It seems I have terrible luck finding coupon codes. I always need to buy from a shop right after a coupon code has expired or I find really good coupon codes right after they expire. Please help I'm looking to get a $15 discount or free standard shipping would be great too. Found the following codes online but so far none of them worked for me.

Newegg generally doesn't just hand out coupon codes that apply for anything. There are very rare occasions where there will be coupons that will work on anything but rest assured, those would be greatly promoted. Most coupon codes that Newegg uses only work on specific products or groups of products.

Yeh, I'm in the same boat. I'd like to see RFD/Newegg have a promo code for cpu and memory sometime soon .... daddy needs to upgrade that my new HP EX475 Server ... I was lucky to grab one from the HOT deal a few days ago ... :-) ... please either free shipping or >$15 off would make me click that button in my Newegg.ca cart .... pleeeeeeeeeessssssseeeeeee ...

My server arrived today!!! The gf was home so she signed for it. I guess I have to add that to the list of "gf pros" vs "gf cons".

As for the server, I look at it this way, I only want to take it apart once, so if I'm upgrading the RAM (which is easy and essential based on comments on some websites) then I might as well update the AMD processor too.

If you've built a computer before, then these mods should be a "breeze". The trick with the processor seems to be the thermal paste and not overtightening the heatsink screws. Some report lower cpu temps with the upgrade.

So to stay on the topic of newegg.ca coupons, the EX475 recommended upgrades are the LE-1640 processor and Gskill 2G ram (I like the one with ram sinks). With fees and shipping, my cart shows ~$92. The processor can be found at NCIX/Tiger/DC etc but the cost there (shipped) is in the $60s. If the ram is bought elsewhere, then the added shipping eats into the savings. Buying both from newegg seems the right thing to do, but I would really like alittle incentive. :-) Oh, also, if opening up the case, make sure you have a #00 philips screwdriver ... CANtire has some ...

Correction: Newegg.ca just increased the prices ... :-( ... so I really need a coupon now. No hurries, I'll set the server up as is, test it and just patiently wait while I enjoy the Dell DODs.

Well after thinking about this, and not liking the newegg.ca shipping and handling fees + integrated taxes and brokerage fees, I decided to buy parts from DirectCanada instead and take advantage of no PST and $5.99 shipping promo. So for $72 shipped, I can upgrade the EX475 with LE-1640 cpu and a cheap piece of Crucial 2G CL5 ram. This is a >$23 savings over newegg. Sorry newegg ... gotta give more promos ... :-/
