LF: Party planning service or party room ideas

Hello,

So I am thinking of throwing my boyfriend a surprise party in a couple of months. Can anyone think of a party room or are there any party planning services available? We both do not have our own place, so having it at home isn't an option. I plan to have about 30 people attend and it needs to be a place where alcohol can be served. I was thinking about a condo party room, everyone brings their own alcohol and then I can have food catered. Any other ideas/places people can suggest? I live in the Scarborough/North York/Markham area. Thanks!!

Look into renting a room at a local community centre, or a local hotel. I'm sure the hotel will let you have booze, not so sure about the community centre though.

check with a small restaurant or a favourite restaurant - they sometimes rent out the restaurant or a room and you could get cheap catering to boot with liquor deals. Just ask about party menus, ect. Mom and Pop places you can get even better deals - just figure out how much you want to spend per head, go buffet-ish and off you go. Try for a sunday though for these places - they are usually empty those evenings over a saturday night.
