Not sure if this is in the correct forum to post in...

I'm looking to buy a front load washer/dryer combo. Hopefully, i can keep the budget to $1500-$2000 tax incl. Time's not an issue. I can wait for a deal.

I have 2 questions:
1- Is there a better time to buy, like say on canada day weekend? (It's moving day in quebec, so i wonder if there are more or less sales during that time).
2- What brands should i be keeping an eye out for? I'm thinking LG, Whirlpool duet.

I remember seeing a boxing day sale for a LG combo for $1400 + tx. Can't remember the model. Maybe i should have jumped on it but didn't want to deal with the crowds.

Any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks!

im gonna keep an eye on this thread as im also looking for one. i wanna go as inexpensive as possible like a grand for the combo. i remember a samsung one i think for about that price during boxing week. BUT the dryer wasn't gas. i would very much prefer a gas dryer.

Check out your local Future Shop locations for floor demos. All the usual still applies - delivery charges, factory warranty, etc; but it comes at an open box price.

I bought a full size/front loading Frigidaire pair a couple years ago for under $1000 (before tax & delivery). I believe retail price at the time was around $1200.
