Present for my grandma

Have anyone bought a "Walker Rollator Espresso Low" for their grandparents?
I'm thinking of buying this one :arrowu: for my grandma but the price is kinda expensive ($469 tax incl). Does anyone know where can I buy the same model but for a cheaper price?

Let me give you some advice...If you want to pay $450 all in, which is only $20 off the price you jsut quoted, go to a bank and get the cash in a big wad of $10's. GO see the store manager, and show him your large wad of cash, and say "I can do $450, right here right now, and not a penny more...have we got a deal?" Begging doesn't work. It's immature.

I wonder if maybe "Walker Rollator Espresso Low" is just a term they use at the store - I've done a bit of searching, and I don't seem to see any Rollators (new word for me! :lol:) described with the word Espresso.

Do you see anything similar at this site (just to use a random example):

I think that no matter where you buy it, you should probably try to find a company that would let you return it (unused but tested) if it can't be adjusted to comfortably & safely fit your grandma, or it might be better to take her somewhere to try them before you buy it for her (although you might be trying to surprise her &/or to hide the cost). The handles need to be adjusted to the right height so she isn't reaching too high or too low, and if she is going to be sitting on the little seat, that needs to be adjustable to the correct height as well.

I'm not familiar with the store you mentioned, and sometimes independent specialty stores have better product knowledge than a chain, but if you are comfortable with a chain (and have a Shoppers Optimum card) you might want to check Shoppers Home Health Care as well: http://www.shoppershomehealthcare.ca/english/home_health_care/index.html.

My Granny had a Dolomite rolling walker, but I can't remember the model - she used it indoors and outdoors. It was good because she had some balance issues, and it helped her more than a cane did, and the little seat allowed her to sit down when she suddenly felt dizzy. I know they (my mom & aunts & granny) picked out a slightly more expensive model because it felt sturdier than the cheaper brands, and they were able to afford the price difference. I'm sure the model is long obsolete anyway (it must have been 10 years ago that they bought it).

Thanks, glad I didn't buy them at Starkmans. My grandma is in China so I'll be bringing them back to China, hopefully it'd fit her.
Today I went to Shoppers home care centre and they have the walker but they have to order them. BUT the good part was! They are having senior sales on Jan 29!!!! so that's another 20%off.


Anyway, I would never shop at Starkmans EVER AGAIN!
