hey im gonna rent a room at Days inn (the one in mississauga). Im borrowing my friend's credit card to reserve online, since i dont have one. When i get in the hotel, does it have to be the same name as the account holder? or can i just say ''under XXX's Reservation''

They will ask for a credit card imprint or the card used to book to cover incidentals (phone calls and movies/games).

I am going to assume the reservation is in your name and not the card holder.
If the reservation is in your friends name also you may not get the room.
The hotel will want an assurance the room will be paid for when you check out so they will want a valid credit card that can be swiped at the time of check in, or they will take a cash deposit, but you can assume it will be double the room rate,,,,to protect against room service charges and or damage.

If they are lending you the card for the reservation, take them along to check in. Most places will only accept credit card deposit. However, my boyfriend was once able to check into a room without my card. He was carrying a bouquet of flowers for my birthday, so I think they may have made an exception. They even upgraded our room.
Now might be a great time to apply for a card for such situations, even if you only have a minimal credit limit.
