I was wondering, if you could post:

That you received early admission for!
I know a lot of people have gotten early admission to Carleton!

Last year, I got early admission last year to Waterloo Life Sci on December 7th.It was like 2 weeks after I applied. I had no intentions of going there but was weirded out by how fast the admission was sent (I suppose with a program admission average of only 75% and spots leftover after the May deadline...the program isn't even close to being competitive to their other programs).
York and UWO gave early admissions in mid January. Can't remember UofT (February?)
Funny thing is, I had York @ Number 12, the bottom of my list. They were the ones that sent the most pamphlets, advertisements, and notices out of all the universities in addition to a scholarship slightly higher than all the other ones.
Early admission or not...it doesn't really matter. As long as you're admitted, that's fine. Just keep up the requirements.

My guidance counsellor told me that they check out your volunteer hours when considering early acceptance..cause I know one of my friends has a 70 something average but 145 hours and got early admin. Is this just a lucky shot or is hours really a factor?

^ all it says on ouac under community hours is whether youve completed them or not, i dont think unis see how many hours youve done (correct me if im wrong)..maybe your guidance counselor meant they check to see if youve completed them. they probably looked at your friends grade 11 marks

Early Acceptance to Carleton on Jan 9 to International Public Affairs and Policy, 84 avg. I ranked them 4th (last). No extra information requested nor supplied, so I don't know why they accepted even before the application deadline.
