Hello there, i need huge help on where to apply for univerisity. In my mind, i really wanna get into U of T SG, Rotman commerce. As i apply, i saw that theres also a requirement to fill up a Student Online Profile. They said they may ask for extra-cirrculium, strength and etc. The problem is, i am not very active in school activities and with not many extra-curriculars, and i'm afraid to just end up wasting $35 dollars. I do have a avrg of 85% ( which is the current mark requirement) but i dont think they will accept me due to my poor involvement in school, but i do involve in churches and volunteer. So now i'm comtemplating whether to still apply or try switching in to life science. ( life science was also one of my interest). Is there anyone else in UTSG that may give me some advice?!? Really appreciated! thanks :D

Im at UTSG now, in life sci though

I know someone who left it blank and got in. They had nearly a 90 average though.

However, if you HAVE extra-curriculars, you should be fine. If it's what you want to do, 35$ is more than worth it to give it a shot, or else you will regret it for at least the summer lol

Just fill it out, there will be a place for you to fill out your involvement. These things are supposed to help you get in if you are near cutoff but they won't reject because you don't have extra curriculars (you do though, ECs isn't only school involvment). These are used as an average booster, so someone with an 85% average who has a lot of extra curriculars will be considered to be someone with, I don't know, an 87% average.

You really don't have much to lose and it's not like your application will be empty because you do have ECs so go for it.

Yes they do. Because if you don't get over a 50 or a 60 in some prereq courses in first year, you are out of commerce. However, these courses aren't very hard at all.

So you give up on your future for 35$? People on RFD are cheaper than I thought

Just sign-up, don't give up because you want to save 35$...:|

no its not that. its just discourages me once they ask for the extra-cirriculum i no they will not base it on just on that but, i know classmates and friends that joined the student leader, DECA, business group etc. I'm the not active cirriculum joiner group lol. Like the most i joined was the Table tennis club in our school lol.

Not a Rotman student but I applied last year. Basically, I got a early acceptance submitting my online supplementary application BLANK. Although I had ECs and etc. I forgot about the deadline date and did not ask for contact info for my references.

Not sure if it mattered but I applied to University College as my first choice (and ranked Trinity college last (did not know about the the hierarchy or w/e at the time)).

I'm sure you're involved with SOMETHING in your school or community (whether it be academics, clubs, volunteer, job, sports). Personally, I don't recommend spending $35 to submit it blank like I did.

If, in your mind you are set on going to UTSG Commerce, then spend teh 35$. It should be a non-factor. Or since you have an 85 average, just apply to a school you are sure you can get into as part of your first 3 and you dont spend any extra.

if it makes you feel slightly better, the rotman profile is actually only 30 dollars :cheesygri
