i had jolly and he is a good teacher not boring, not an easy marker but still if you try hard enough you should be able to pull off an A which is what i had in his class and i didnt try that hard (im a lazy bastard that leaves everything for the last minute)

Ironically his last name is "Jolly" yet he has a monotonic and boring tone.

I have Amy Peng on Tue 9-12 right now too but after having looked at her course outline im kinda iffy. I had almost the same course layout last term (40% midterm, 60% final) and it puts so much pressure as those are the only 2 tests you have that will make your mark. I have looked at RMP.com and asked around some profs and they said either Peng or Thomson but then it never hurts to get more input...
Amy Peng has
10% Online Quizes
40% Midterm
50% Final
Jolly has
18% Online Quizes
20% Test
20% Test
42% Final
If anyone is on the other classes such as Thomson or Fung please do post up what your course layout is like...

I've taken both ECN104 and ECN204 with Mercy Anselm and I think she's by far the best ECN teacher in terms of teaching and outline (2 test + exam).

ya I had 40% midterm and 60% final last semester for ecn 104 as well, you probably had with Kam Eric.
Ya lot of pressure goes on especially before the midterm where you want to do well on it since its 40% just in case for a screw up on the final. Thank god for the 5% bonus.
I heard as well that Amy or Thompson is fine, but the quiz idea for Amy's class was always good as told by other students. Makes you review the content so your up to date with the stuff, which means its easier to study for the midterm.

I had Thompson for ECN204 and thought he was great. He said we didn't need to use the textbook, but I bought the textbook.... if you just read the textbook and follow his examples in class than you'll do fine.
He's probably the best ECN i've had... would take him again in a heartbeat.
