Even though I'm not a Pentax user, I heard lots of good things about the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8. Very sharp and the price is good. I think you can pick up a used one for pretty cheap too.

I've had this urge to switch to Pentax. I love the primes, especially the limited ones. LOL. Maybe in the future.

I'm on the fence with my 16-50mm lens and was thinkin of selling it and getting a combo of the 31mm Limited along with a Sigma 10-20mm or a Pentax 12-24mm.

Love it! Knew I would as soon as I tried it. Since I've had it, I haven't used my fa50 f1.4 or my Super Tak. I was actually thinking of selling the 50mm and the sigma superwide to get the 16-50mm. On the fence about the Sigma though. I don't use it much but whenever I do, it is so much fun. Might sell the Tamron and 50mm instead. Then again the Tammy is so versatile. If only fiscal prudence wasn't an issue.

I think I may eventually end up with 16-50mm, 50-135mm, FA 31 ltd, and FA 77 ltd along with a superzoom for when multiple lenses is not practical.

Apparently there is a number of Canon 5d owners that have modified the fa limited primes to work on their cameras.

Every where I see the 24-70 there are good reviews; but I didn't get the lens simply because of size/weight and price. I ended up getting the 24-60 f2.8 instead. Losing 10mm at the long end doesn't affect me much but its so much easier on my neck and arms :)

No advertisements in the newspapers. No inserts or brochures. No co-op advertising with Henry's/Vistek. Hard to find Pentax in a variety of retailers (Staples/FS/BB/OD/WM/Costco).

for those with K20D, how is the image quality? I went to test one out and when zoomed to the max to see the picture I just took, I've noticed the images are a bit grainy....hoping to get it with the tamron 17-50mm f2.8 :D

Very happy with mine. I think the image playback zoom goes to 32x on screen. Not grainy and holds a lot of detail.


Anyone here have the Pentax 55-300mm? Thinking of selling the 18-250mm and picking up one of these.

I have gotten the Sigma 24-70 since then. Surprisingly, I don't find the weight that bad.
