I'm currently enrolled in ITM102 (Business Information Systems). Class have not started yet but I'm having second thoughts from hearing what others have said. Is this a hard course? I'm computer illiterate and not tech savvy AT ALL. Maybe I'll have an easier time with QMS102 (Business Statistics)? Or should I just go with an elective (PHL214 Critical Thinking)?

Note: None of these courses are mandatory for me.

Both classes are fairly easy and both use a computer. You shouldn`t have any problems with either unless by computer illiterate you mean you`re completely clueless. If you want to learn more about computers and Excel, Access etc... ITM102 is a perfect course for you to take. Stats has some math but the first half of the course is presenting the data (excel).

qms102 is just like data management in high school, if you suck in math, i think you should try a elective

I ended up with an A in ITM 102 and honestly it wasnt a hard course.
1st u learn about all the parts of a computer, OS and applications that run in an OS, u learn about networks and types of networks, u learn about databases, how to manage them and information systems. You learn a bit about risk management and computer security. If you can take it with Farid Shirazi then DO TAKE IT. Thats one prof i will miss, he made class fun even in the non-fun parts.

As for QMS 102 as others have said, if youre bad at Data Management then maybe don't take it.

Thanks guys,

That looks complicated lol. I'm taking accounting and economics as well this semester so I don't want to stress myself out. I'm going to take critical thinking and it even fits my schedule better!

I found QMS 102 to be more interesting than ITM 102 lol :P But factor in the profs that are currently teaching :P That could make all the difference :P QMS 102 was essentially a review of data management as previously said plus a little extra application like quality control :S

QMS = you get 3 page double sided cheat sheet, the course isnt hard if you understand what to do and got a good cheat sheet
ITM = computer stuff, hardware, software, some e-commerce stuff, but the overall course wasnt that hard if you keep up with your work, the only problem is the stupid online quiz since that website is a pos

The online Excel and Access quizes were the easiest.
Just open up the quiz on your desktop and the practice on your laptop. It'll take you 10-15 mins per quiz and you'll get perfect. Thats the good side about the website being a POS, it wont realize you're logged in twice.

ITM102(Bus. mgmt) = ITM100(IT mgmt)
Its a intro. course, so fairly easy.

QMS102(Bus. mgmt) Requires Calculator
QMS104(IT mgmt) Uses Excel or SPSS depending on the instructor.
Difficult course if you're not good with qualitative stuff

QMS 204 not QMS 104
I found both courses to be fairly easy.
ITM 102 or ITM 100 is very easy if you seen the back of a computer and can use the basic functions of excel and access.

QMS 102 or QMS 204 is pretty much data management with some review on mean, median, mode, averages and weighted averages.

If you good in math go for qms or a computer type then go for itm. Both easy courses since their first year courses.
