Thought I'd share a great thread for those interested in portraiture. I knew a few of these, but what I don't know could fill an ocean !

I realized I'm not a portrait photography yesterday cause I tried reading the link and almost fell asleep :lol:

Seems like good advice though.

Thanks for posting but I found the information kinda obvious(?) and/or all over the place. Also the photos used as examples are very old-school and too traditional. I'm sure a lot of time and effort went into writing the original document though.

I found it helpful, I learned some new things. I plan on breaking all the rules at once on some sort of self portrait to see what kinda messed up picture i get.

I agree w/ you on the old school photos.

However, I do believe it's important that portrait photographers learn all the traditional rules as it builds a basic foundation. While these pictures might seem "boring" compared to the current style of photos, I believe most of the 40 rules here will stand the test of time, whereas many current photo styles won't.
