Just a question for you guys. I just graduated from HP centennial and planning on transferring into Ryersons "Information Technology Mgmt-Telecommunications and Infrastructure Management option - for 3 year Ontario College diploma holders". Just wondering if you guys had to submit your high school diplomas as well. I know it's a stupid question but I didn't see any option on ouac to submit your high school diplomas. Did you guys just mail it to the admissions instead?
And also, how competitive are there ITM transfer programs like the one mentioned. I ended up with a 3.2 final gpa  and I'm not sure if thats enough to get in. Another quicky...on the ouac site do you universities mind if you apply for pt and ft for the SAME program? Thanks!

I believe you submit your high school transcript to the admissions office in the library building and apply for the program on OUAC. Not sure if you can apply for both part time and full time for ITM, but you should decide which one you would want to do based on your situation because their are differences between them.
Known differences that I know of are is that ft you need to buy the laptop which is like around 400 or 450 per semester and you can't opt out, but in pt there is no laptop. In part time the majority of your classes will be at night (through the chang school) so mostly ppl working during the day are enrolled as part time students in the ITM program.
I don't know the exact requirements for college transfer admissions, you probably have to submit your college transcript with your high school to admissions and call and ask them what other requirements are needed.
Most college transfers that I know of go into level 5 (year 3) of the program but also need to take some reach-back courses like LAW 122 - Intro to Business Law and FIN 300 - Finance, which are required for the ITM program. Good luck with your application process

Hey thanks for the info. I don't really want to apply for part time but people say its less competitive then advanced standing (full time) and you can get in easily XD. I'll just stick to applying for full time then as I really want that. But I also I heard that its easier to just take PT and then switch to ft. Is that a possibility as well?
If anyone else reading this has transferred into the ITM program what gpa did you get in with? Thanks.

You can definately switch to full time while doing part time at ryerson. When you are doing part time you apply to ryerson again as a full time student some time around January (while doing part time). You fill out this single online application on the ryerson website. Its pretty easy to get in and usually every gets in if your marks around B to B+ range (the marks when your in part time).
Since you want to do full time, I suggest apply for that and in case if you don't get in, they will probably put you into part time. But based on your gpa and going into advanced standing I think you should be in good shape.

I think one of the major differences from PT to FT that you didn't mention is that PT has no coop eligibility (but i could be wrong).
One of the admins once told me that it is much easier to get accepted into PT and then a couple semesters later transfer into FT and they will most likely not refuse you. Asking for FT right off the bat poses a few obstacles so you can get declined and have to start over in the process.

if you transfer to ITM program from another university...is it true that you have to start your program from scrach? And when do you apply for co-op?

Well in depends on your situation. If you finish a college diploma closlely related to the major your trying to get into like here, ITM - Telecommunications the the majority of courses transfer over except a few like law, finance and economics (unless you took them in college).
If your transferring from university, a lot of students transfer from engineering schools then a lot of credits don't get transferred over since engineering and ITM courses are totally different, except maybe 1 or 2 courses like calculus from first engineering can transfer over as a professional related course - QMS 702. In that case you have to start scratch from first year.
And I think your right that coop is only available to full time students and its only available when your in 2nd year, and you cannot apply any other years after or before that.

Awesome thanks! I went ahead and applied for the FT and will fall back on the pt if there is space in that.
Sucks that there is no co-op for advanced though. Centennial offers a year of co-op and it was pretty good. Does ryerson offer the same or more?

You graduated from Centennial College. Submit your college transcript along with other documents (a supplementary form). Not required to submit your high school transcript unless it has changed. Ryerson will mail you a package of info telling you what they want. You can mail or hand it to them in person at the Undergraduate Admissions Office (Must write your OUAC and Ryerson ID on whatever you give them).
Your 3.2 GPA will get you into ITM. Yes you can apply to both PT and FT for the same program.

I transfered from UofT life science and had to start from scratch. Ryerson offers co-op, but students can only apply once and only in second year, also there are certain requirements that you have to meet.

Ya its only in second year and by the end of the 2nd yr 2nd Sem you have to done all the required courses listed in the course calander by the end of 2nd sem. The core courses, 3 Table A liberals and 1 Professionally Related Course. They don't recommend fast tracking and to have a better chance of placement into coop you should have a 3.0 GPA, minimum cut off is 2.67 to be considered.
