OK, are you sure of the time period you actually applied for? Nothing for Sept 09 would be closed at this point. You don't have to request your transcipts to be forwarded unless it's a college or university transcript, highschool transcripts are automatically forwarded. You need to post all the relavent info in order for anyone to help you out...

I have a question on the same lines as bape but I'm a bit further behind in the process and was hoping someone can assist or direct me in the right way. I'm planning on going back to school (hopefully) this September 09 but I'm not sure what I'm suppose to do in regards to transcripts and other stuff that the colleges may ask for. I recently graduated from University of Wilfrid Laurier with a degree in communications studies last April and have been working ever since but want to continue my education this fall. I'm looking at Conestoga, Humber, and Sheridan for marketing diploma/certificates. How should I go about applying for these schools?

Hey cupa. The process isn't that hard really. If you haven't already you will want to make an account on "www.ontariocolleges.ca". This is the site that most people use to apply for college. Once you've made your account, filled out all the necessary personal information fields, chosen the universities and programs to apply to, you can then fill out the page which requests college transcript. You will have to pay a fee for the transcript request but the site itself will retreive your college transcript and send it off to the schools of your choice.
You'll also want to have your course outlines for all of your courses taken at wilfred laurier. If you don't have some of them go back there and ask them for the course outlines you are missing (you know, the ones they give you on first day XD ). You'll need these in case the college you are applying for requires them. Ask if you got anymore questions.

Cupa, you apply through the Ontario Colleges website (www.ontariocolleges.ca). First you must register for an account and then create your "wishlist" of programs you are interested in. After doing that you can then apply using the button on the site. When it comes to your transcripts there is a part of the application process that directs you to request the transcripts be forwarded to the Ontario Colleges site for distribution with your applications and walks you through it. Once you've applied and paid ($95 this year) you can track the process online as well as check for offers and confirm offers of admission. The deadline for equal consideration this year is Feb. 2nd.

Ok, it sounds like you applied just a few days to a week before the start of the semester. I'm assuming that you checked the status of the program before hand through the actual college website as well as the Ontario Colleges site. If the program was indeed open at the time you applied and your application says still active on the website you should be fine. Quite often some schools will close a program just before the start of a semester even though technically they will accept admissions even after a semester starts. You may want to call the admissions dept of the school you applied to just to double check and push for an acceptance quicker. Our son started his semester today so you're really cutting it close to get books, etc.

Which school you applied for? Go into the school tomorrow. The school didn't scam or cheat you by closing the program and it's still open in OCAS. On the first week or so during the beginning of the semester (until Jan 13 this year), people could apply to the school directly, a procedure called Quick Admission. You should of apply to the school directly instead yesterday. Anyways, the program might filled up for Quick Admission applicants before OCAS get informed. What you could do now is go in the school directly tomorrow with all your papers from OCAS and talk to someone at the Admission department. Good Luck.

It's $85 for 2008-2009 programs but it's $95 for 2009-2010 programs. So CSK's Mom was right when she said $95.

Hey StopTheCharade, thanks for your reply. Just a question about the course outlines subject. Why would the colleges require you to present this type of information? Wouldn't the transcripts be enough?

Hey sorry I forgot you were planning on applying to college and not university. You shouldn't need any course outlines if your applying for college and yes the transcript will be enough besides whatever documentation they ask you to fill out.

All offfers of admission come through the website Bape as well as through the mail. Offers will show on the website first (before you get the actualy physical package) and must be confirmed through the website as well. Call the school's admission dept. today, like now, because their classes start today!

In "normal" circumstances it can happen fairly quickly as molala has already said. I'm not sure yours is a "normal" situation though with being suspended from uni. You may want to head over to Durham and see if you can get some action on your application. Be forewarned though, if it's anything like our son's college on the first day of classes of a new semester, the lines will be crazy long to get near anyone's office of importance. The lines at his registar's office on Monday were 2+ hrs long! You really need to get proactive here to get an answer. I would think at this point you'll miss at least this week's classes by the time you actually pay your fees and get enrolled, get ID and student number, get a timetable, buy books, etc.

Not all colleges have their classes start today. If I remember correctly, Seneca and Centennial doesn't start until next week. A Smart decision IMO

Our line up was 45 minutes for just to get a number waiting to be called.

Why do you want to wait till OCAS reply you? Go in the college and speak to someone at the admission department. Don't bother calling, no one at the college will have time to answer your call this time of the year. And for the sake of protecting your privacy, they would NOT give you any information through the phone.
By the time they really mail you an offer of admission, you have to register and all that stuff which you might miss the deadline for January post sec. start. Go in rather than wasting time waiting.
If you only want a reply from OCAS, then keep checking your status online.

Congrats Bape. Glad to hear it worked out well for you. :)
Molala, he posted that he applied to Durham and I checked their site for when their classes started, which was today. ;) Many colleges are already back in class. Our oldest was back on Tuesday for classes, orientation for new students was on Monday.

Just wondering whether if the college will contact me if I need to provide additional material such as a written essay, doing an aptitude test, or handing in a portfolio after I apply to their college online. Or do I need to do this before hand? I'm applying to enroll for this coming September.
btw, congrats bape!

Yes cupa, they will if anything additional is needed. They can contact you by email, snail mail or phone.

Hey StopTheCharade, thanks for your reply. Just a question about the course outlines subject. Why would the colleges require you to present this type of information? Wouldn't the transcripts be enough?
As the StopTheCharage already has said transcripts are more than enough to apply.
HOWEVER, and this is huge, try to scrounge up all your course outlines you possibly can. Because once you are accepted into the program you take, you might have some courses taken at laurier that are very similar to ones you might need to take for your new program in college. this will save you money and TIME if you get course exemptions using both course outlines and transcript.
I can tell you this is what I did as I was in univeristy and wasn't able to finish but am now in college for a simlar program where I got a lot of course exemptions.
Good Luck!
