Google released the Beta version of it's Picasa software for OSX use. For those of us who never got used to or just don't like iPhoto, this is a huge step. It was the only reason to keep Parallels running.

I can't wait to get home and download it and finally organize my pictures.

Enjoy!

Watch out, I just found out yesterday that Picasa does not support Adobe RGB and uses the SRGB colour profile which mucks up your colours.

Stick with lightroom or iphoto.

I've heard the interface is terrible (which is weird because it's quite nice on Windows). They probably took a shortcut like their Linux version and just run the Windows version under a modified WINE. :( Too bad, I would've like a good alternative to iPhoto.

I just watched the video they have on their website, and it seems almost identical to the PC version...

does it support Nikon NEF RAW image viewing? I hate all the image viewers I have now on the Mac, brutally slow and inaccurate colors reproduced. Picasa on the PC as the only program that was reasonably fast to startup and process each pic for viewing.

I haven't used picasa in a while but I always liked iPhoto better, it just seemed so much easier.

Maybe I'll reinstall it and see if they changed much since I last had it on pc

I can see NEFs from my D70s just fine on Picasa.
