Got the BFG GTX 260 Maxcore today in the mail, but when I installed it and booted my computer, I was greeted by a very loud squeaky fan. It scared the heck out of me, so I turned it off and took it out. Upon looking at it, I slowly rotated the fan and there was a part of the rotation that would result in a rough movement and squeak.
Currently on the phone with BFG(been about 30 mins on hold). Should I take the plastic cover guard off and WD40 it or any other suggestions? I think the fan is either installed imporperly and grinding against a side of the fan walls or there is not enough lubricant on the ball bearings. Or something like that.

Wait until you hear what BFG has to say.
Oh and don't ever use WD40, if you have to use something like 3-in-1 oil or sewing machine oil on the fan (and only like one or two drops at that).

Finally got a response, they said to RMA it. So off it goes back to NCIX I guess...
Now to find a box that the video card will fit into, and that won't costs an arm to ship....argh.

Depending on what it costs to ship it back/forth, you might want to consider an aftermarket heatsink
Thermalright HR-03 GTX (http://www.anitec.ca/product/11932)
Chances are it will keep your card cooler and nearly silent. It is kinda pricey though.

RMA's don't go back to the retailer... you have to ship to BFG
