First day of University.

I want in in a full class.

There was one spot open, so i moved a course around to make room for it. After the modification to my time table, the class was full.

How do i get in it? other then checking every day for a spot?

What university is this for???
In general though you;d have to wait until a spot is open and then join in, after all its what all other students have to do. You can also try to call your programs admin though and they have the power to force push you into a class if you can bring up a well enough case in front of them why they should do it and give you a better treatment.

class override form (usually requires the prof's consent/signature)

Depends on which school you go to. Different schools have different policies. The most common way to get into it would be to check back as much as you can, people add and drop classes all first week.

how large is the class?

if its relatively small or your #1 on the list to get in (waitlist) I would speak to the prof ASAP and see if he can override it.

How do I get on the wait list?

I have a friend who is currently in the class and is going to drop it. That means right after he drop it i can register and get in, correct? Or will the waitlist give it to whoever is next in line?

if i recall correctly when attempting to register online theres some sort of button that says do you want to be put on the waitlist or something like that, but not sure if thats for all classes. If there is a waitlist it gets offered to whoever is next in line, and you have a certain time period (not very long) to accept or reject it, then if rejected or time expires goes to the next person.

There doesn't seem to be a waiting list available for the course I want to get in. I should be fine as long as i click register a second after he clicks de-register, right?

Last time there was an open spot it was gone before i can click register, that concerns me a bit.

At U of Waterloo we had a course override form too, your professor signs it and lets you into the class. Normally during the first week they would say if they are letting more people in.

In your case, if its ECON 101 section 008 (it has no wait list), you and your friend should drop/add at the same time. See my reply in your other thread as well.
