Ok so I just picked up one of these bad boys ,and wow is all I can say :)

But I have some issues/ and questions

1. Itunes, I've turned on Itunes server, shared out my MP3 folder etc. But Itunes does not show my DNS-323 on the left, is there something I need to do on Itunes? (running version 8)

2. Trying to get both my Xbox 360 and PS3 to see the files on it, I want my son to be able to watch movies on the 360, But it when I scan with the 360 it says no video files there, these are all torrents (axxo) they say avi. PS3 with play them, but the 360 wont see them, any advice? comments.

3. Can I share out 2 Folders under UpNp since I only would like the movies to go on the 360, and everything on my ps3 (video, music, and photos)

4. Really stupid Question Can I ftp to this thing from outside my home? I have turned on the FTP server, but I've never used FTP before, so I'm not sure if how to access it from work etc. Anyone have a guide lol

Thanks in advance

You need to port forward the FTP port from your router to the ip address of this device.

You have to enable iTunes to look for shared libraries. Go to Edit->Preferences, select the Sharing tab and check the box labeled "Look for shared libraries".

A good place to find DNS-323 info is at http://forum.dsmg600.info. Try installing the fonz fun_plug and then have fun tweaking your DNS-323! :cheesygri

I got it from NCIX as well ($141 shipped), just setup with 2 x 1TB HDD
and spent a day copying 600GB to it, whew~

I learned that iTunes server is on, but you need to wait for it to auto-refresh (add/remove file), or manually click the "Refresh" button

Update to firmware 1.06 first though, newly released, supports Unicode better

Haven't had chance to try UPnP AV server...
