I am looking at these two:
http://www1.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=019950&cid=PS.808

Looking at Newegg reviews, the Antec surprises me the most. Corsair seems to be a good PSU as well. Hence...I don't know which one is better...
Note, I won't be bothering with the mail-in rebate...so price is not really the issue
and can someone explain to me what Active PFC means? (BESIDES giving me a wiki link)
Specs:
AMD Athlon X2 3800+ S.939
512mb x 4 OCZ Performance Series DDR400 RAM
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD3650 512mb DDR2
1x W.D 250gb
1x W.D 500gb
1x Samsung 18x DVD-RW drive
1x LG CD-RW drive
Foxconn Winfast NF4K8AC mobo

Take the corsair. I think they are backed up by a 5 year warranty.

despite how cheap it is...I'll probably avoid OCZ's rebates...and I don't want modular

Don't read Newegg reviews, they aren't written by people with knowledge...
Between the Corsair and Antec Earthwatts, get whichever is cheaper. They're built on similar platforms. I'd give the nod to the Corsair, though.

I'm sure antec has improved in quality since the 'fujiiyu' capacitor fiasco, but I still wont buy the product because I'm afraid they might use there fans inside the power supply, which are absolute garbage, and If they were able to cheap out $.20 per power supply just to save some money and never admit to the problem gives me a big reason never to buy the product again.
Corsair on the other hand, I have sold over 25 of these, never seen one fail, are quiet, and after opening one up just for fun, they are indeed using high quality Japanese caps throughout the unit. They aren't cheap, but you are getting exactly what they state and expect that it will last far longer than the 5yr warranty.

What are you going on about? They use Nippon-ChemiCon capacitors and Adda fans in their Earthwatts units... just like Corsair. What's wrong with Antec's own fans? Their Tri-cool aren't that bad.

thx for the replies
From what I heard, the CX400 still follows a similar design to Seasonic PSUs and use caps from Nippon-ChemiCon despite it's aimed towards a lower budget.

I believe both PSUs are made by Seasonic so either should be fine.
If it was me I'd go for the Corsair because the cable lengths are generally a bit longer (although I think the Molex cables are shorter) and it has more connectors (e.g. 6 SATA versus 4) than the Antec.
