Weird Digital Camera Video problem (Canon sd790)

Hey!

So i purchased the canon sd790 on boxing day. The camera has a video record option. I was recently at blue mountain, and as it became dark, the lights came on. This is when i noticed an odd problem that i've never seen before in a camera. I uploaded the recorded video to youtube. Many of my other videos at blue mountain that day has this problem with the lights causing a blue line effect. The thing is, i have tried recording video with the lights on in my home and i do not get this effect.

Anyone ever experienced this issue?

That just looks like the contrast between the lights and the other things are really high so the lights are "blown out" and it can cause that sort of thing. Not much you can do about it. On a sunny day if you point your camera at the sun (i would not reccommend looking through the viewfinder) and take a picture or video you'll get the same result in some cases
