Iphone, travel etc? No internet

I have a friend visiting from Toronto, he has the iphone also and he is on Fido... but he cannot get internet here..... I looked at his phone, and after his signal strength/fido there is nothing... no 3g, E, o etc.... so it must be a setting somewhere? Any input appreciated

lots of signal, had nothing after the bar/fido in the top left corner...
however, I guess Toronto have a different networking or something.... we had to go into settings, general, reset, reset network settings....

Data roaming only occurs when he goes on another network (example: AT&T in the states). He's on the same carrier, so his data should work regardless.

Or am I wrong? :confused:

I'd be willing to bet it's just Rogers poor network over there. The signal indicator means almost absolutely nothing, he could have a poor signal and still show 4 bars.
