Hi all, I just recently got some phones from Rogers through renewal by phone not through retailers. Apparently, Rogers told there's only English and French on the w580i that I got. I was wondering if anybody know whether or not if it is true that Rogers even locked that feature, because I thought "i" meant international and usually those models have chinese support.
If Rogers is that *#$&% up, then is my only option to unlock/debrand it and void the warranty?

Apparently this particular model needs the language file to support it. http://www.myforum.lasyk.net/showthread.php?t=29379
It's quite possible SE did not include additional languages for North American distribution. Rogers is usually not involved in that customization.

Only way would be to reflash the filesystem and main (not sure if main needs to be flashed) and possibly a chinese CDA as well. It's fairly easy if you don't mind doing some research and taking up a bit of your time. It would void the warranty though.

I was hoping to avoid it since it would void warranty. Guess that's the only way then.
