Very sad day indeed. She had metastatic stomach cancer that had spread to her lungs, but pneumonia was the end, and she died 10 days after entering the hospital. The whole family is devastated. I feel so bad for all the kids. Going to be a very sad Xmas for them all. :(

My heart breaks for the hubby. He is taking it very badly. Not enough hugs or tears in the world right now....

That's unfortunate and so close to the holidays. It'll be awhile before they can celebrate the holidays in the traditional sense.

She must have been a very nice mom and grandmother!

Remember and celebrate the good times and memories

She would not want anyone to be sad or devastated for her.

My wife's dad had a major heart attack on Family Day last year.
Doctor said he was gone before he hit the ground.

Very sad. We both miss him terribly.
Worse, her mom has alzheimers so she has little memory left.
Its like they both died.

That's terrible to hear. It would never be easy but I couldn't imagine at this time of year. My condolences to your family.

Thank you for your replies and condolences.

I called to give my sympathy to my sister-in-law (also one of my very good friends), and started to cry when I heard her voice. She's having a hard time talking about it yet. Can't even imagine how my FIL feels (fatherinlaw). I'm not ready to call him, but will tomorrow after I've had time to think of something to say. I just ordered flowers to be delivered tomorrow. It's so frustrating that I can't help them more (they're in Michigan USA, and I'm in Van area).

Anywho, thanks again for your kind words.

My condolences to you and your family.

One of my grandparents was diagnosed with cancer this past Monday. I'm not sure how early the cancer was caught but all I can do is hope. Christmas will be pretty solemn this year. It's amazing how your view of life can change all of a sudden. You realize what is truly important.
