both are silly price at all
LG 42LG70 is 1K,although it is kind of high end LCD of LG,but LG to the LCD,is like KIA TO car, worst as i thought
when you take SAMSUNG LN40A500,it is even worse than model 550,which is 1k,but 550 has 10000 points more contrast rate than, and more HDMI JACK,it is like reduce the quality and reduce the price model, nothing special, for saving $100 bucks, lineup @3AM,worthless!!!!!
then nothing really i want to take,i prefer to buy Sharp Aquos 42" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV** (LC42D85)
which can be price match at FS with BB now,it is cost (1400-30)*1.13=1548.1 which you can take any time !
no boxing deals at all,ice cold both FS and BB

Both deals are cold, I wouldn't line up for either one. Although I do prefer Samsung seems to have BETTER quality control over LG sometimes after reading many many many threads on this board. Anyone else agree?

Agree with you both points. Deals can be had at this price or better any given day of the year. Why do people think you can not negotiate prices at FS or BB? They don't like it but very well do it.
Also Samsung trumps LG.

There are few professional reviews for it, but they sound good too.
I saw it in the store today. The cheaper LGs looked crappy. This particular one looked fantastic (as did the rest of the 70-series LGs).

Get the 46A530 at Sears for $1149.99. Or the 52RV535 for $1399.99 at FS.
imo.

neither... the only LG worth considering is the LG60 which is the scarlette series. The rest are a joke. As for samsung, the only basic one is the A550... nothing lower then that.

The LG is a 120Hz, Samy a 60Hz...............no comparison here, definitely LG for better fast motion viewing. I do not like the LG stand though, cheap and unstable.

The LN40A500 is a stripped down model made specifically for boxing day. In other words it is a very cheaply made model to fool people who must have 1080p. I wouldn't go near it.

Were did you get it with free shipping ??? Decided to pull the trigger on this one this morning but since it's a web-only sale, a $55 shipping fee came with it... :|

Just picked one up today as well after they allocated more stock to the EAST. I am a bit sceptical as LG has really slid in quality control the past couple years. Currently have a 40" 530 Series Samsung which I love but I couldn't pass up the 120hz feature for only $999.99. By far the cheapest 120hz TV I can find. Reviews are mostly good but there are some that consistently similar: cheap stand (although I don't care because it will be mounted on my wall), some HDMI port problems, 120hz blurr issues (but I found this to be the same on all 120hz panels, need to turn it on during the right content).
Anyways, I got FS return policy to fall back on I guess. And gotta figure out a way of selling my 2 month old 530 Samsung and switching the panels without my girlfriend noticing ;)

The LG70 is part of the Scarlett series. It is identical to the LG60 save the styling.

Reg. Price is 1599.99 NOT $1299.99. That was just a pre-boxing day sale price.

ok well whatever....but that's my point you could have bought it a week before boxing day paying 150 more but not have to line up.....

You won't have to lineup at sears on boxing day either. Sears isn't exactly a busy retailer and they only have a handful of good deals. Besides, you can just order that TV via their website for $1149.99 use the $100 off $1000 coupon and get it for $1049.99 and not lineup.
FS/BB also had deals BEFORE christmas that are also on their boxing day for only a few dollars less. In fact all retailers that had a christmas sale have most of those same items on their boxing day sale at a slightly better price.
I don't know about you. But with this apparent economy failure, $150 is A LOT of money. This is RFD for chris sakes. I remember people from last years boxing day sale that sat out in the cold for 5hours to get an HD-DvD player at only $100 off the regular price and 2-3months later HD-DVD became obsolete. People will do crazy things ( especially RFD'rs) just to save $1... so $150 is a lot.
