I've got a Rogers $17.50 plan and a LG phone, what would happen if I took my SIM and put it in a Blackberry Pearl? Would I get charged ridiculous amounts of money for data?

No, but most Blackberry features will not work without a data plan.

ask them to block off data... you can still use the phone for texting... but other then that... most features are useless without data.

i have 2 blackberries, one without data and i'm considering adding data onto it.
