I just bought a Garmin 265WT from this guy/store for $270.

http://www.gps.**********/

I saw the ad on craigslist and I thought I'd give it a try since he has a storefront. I picked up the Garmin today (brand new) from, assuming, his house.

Before handing over the money, I checked and the unit was new (at least new looking) with the cables in bags and the screen protector on the gps unit.

Used it today and works like a charm.

The guy said the 265WT is selling for $270 only until Jan 15th.

The site has been mentioned before.

However, maybe the site isn't updated, or local deal only.
Clicking on the 265wt goes to the page showing it is 375. If you try to buy online, same thing (+15 shipping = 390).

Not the same model.

265WT has live traffic, bluetooth hands free calling and I'm guessing newer processor and HotFix for faster connection.

I bought the same 265wt model from him yesterday, too. Very reasonable prices - better than any Boxing day deal you could find in GTA and even better than on eBay, I had done quite thorough research on it before purchasing.

Everything in box was in place including accessories and quick-start manuals, all stuff absolutely new. The device itself has never been turned on before - I can tell because there is an option to see the time of the very first satellite acquisition, which was exactly when I first turned it on. I've read stories when people seen such date to be several months back on their "new" devices - this could affect your eligibility for free map update from Garmin. Fortunately, this is not the case here - the Nigmo guy sells truly brand new devices. Anyway, the device already has the very latest 2009 map by Garmin, so no need to run that 2 Gb update.

I was able to register it on Garmin site without a hitch, the serial number and the device itself were properly recognized. All the last minute updates from Garmin installed smoothly. The device is working just fine, I don't have a single issue to complain about.

The bottom-line: if you are in the market for one of those Garmin nuvi devices, check out this guy and his website. Highly recommended.

Futureshop has been selling the 265WT at $249 for quite a while now!

In stock on the website, and I'm sure the actual stores still have plenty of them. Bought one on boxing day, so far it works well, but I haven't tried out the bluetooth features yet.

Oh, so this guy doesn't charge tax. Ok ok I see. Just imagine if everyone on RFD started giving prices inclusive or exclusive of tax, and not saying which--chaos!

Sorry but for the $12-13 bucks diff I would rather buy from FT and get my aeropints or best buy and get my rewards and 14day return policy and extended warrantly by using my MasterCard and lets not forget the airmiles.
Who knows what this guy is selling ?? refurbs?? hot goods?? have you tried registering it??
I bot this unit from BB on boxing day I just had them pm FT and got the 10% difference plus the bb reward points. I've used it every day since and I got and it works great so far. I think its a great price costco has it for like $349 and tiger has it fror $299 and ebay prices are around $300 (plus exchange if from us).

I've emailed "Serge" at NIGMO and there are two options:

Add taxes if invoice, warranty and 14 day return/exchange wanted
No taxes if warranty, return/exchange, and pay in cash

The no taxes option saves ~$10 compared to the current FS deal...not sure if this is such a great deal and risk.

I think even if the price difference was $30, I'd still go with FS. Don't even know if this guy's an authorized retailer - so, Garmin may not honour the warranty... plus what's the guy's return/exchange policy like - I would think most likely you won't be able to return open box or only return if defective, etc. For a peace of mind, stick with FS.

I bought it online from FS, and just got it yesterday.... can't wait to play with it. FYI - if anyone is looking for a cheap case alternative for this unit, the dimensions are similar to that of Nintendo DS Lite. I bought the leather case from bestbuy for $10... pretty good quality, not as good as the Garmin one, but then it didn't cost me $50.

Also - cheap screen protectors... hope it fits, haven't received mine yet.

+1, you can use a NDS lite case as it's much cheaper. RCSS has plastic ones on clearance for $1.94

nds lite cases are a little bigger than this unit, I'm currently using one for mine until I get an actual case and it shuffles around in the case  bad idea to just buy a DS case for this...

You could pad the inside of the case.

if you get the right DS case - the padding/lining inside should prevent any scratches/damage from the shuffling around... dimension wise, it's almost identical.

DS - 2.1 x 7.4 x 13.3 cm
Garmin - 1.4 x 7.0 x 12.0 cm

If it's mere $10+ then by all means buy from FS, I'd've done the same. However, I saved $42 plus some change for stupid FS shipment so to me it all makes a lot of sense.

Here's the RCSS $1.94 case. It's pretty snug:

Would anyone like to comment on the quality of the speaker? I am concerned it may not be loud enough. Debating whether to get this over the 760, which at least has an audio out jack in case the need arises.

Craigslist posted a price of $259 cash.

I spoke to the guy Serge today. He says that sale ended yesterday. It's now $319. I told him no thanks.
