Was at FS at Dixie and Dundas in Mississauga and saw a sign up at a display that said 30% off tv DVDs. They had several the Star Trek tv series. Ended up buying the 4 seasons of Enterprise. They had $39.99 price stickers on them and at their regular spot in the tv section $62.99. So had to grab an employee and ask him. The ones at the display were already marked down the 30% off. Knew it was probably too good to be true it would be 30% off of $62.99 but hey had to try! Still it's a great price for the ST series (had all of TNG, most of DS9 and seasons 4-7 of VOY, one Classic Trek). Looked up at FS website and they have the Enterprise complete series for $219.99 plus tax. Paid $159.96 plus tax came to $180.76. My son is going to one happy Trekkie come his birthday. He's currently watching my tapped episodes on our old 27 inch tube tv in the basement and with it being a widescreen series he's got those black bars too. Want to keep this a secret since he's at the grandparents but will have to find a way to get him to slow down his watching from the tapes because I know he'll want to restart with the DVD sets :).

No good parent lets their child watch Enterprise. It doesn't deserve the name Star Trek.

Enterprise got me into a Star Trek. After i watched Enterprise, i had to go back and watch TNG, and DS9.

Currently on TOS, before the movie comes out.

Thanks OP.

Would this %30 off apply to TV shows that are on Blu-ray do you think?

Maybe my math is off, but doesn't 30% off of 62.99 come to 44.09? So how could the others already be marked down? I would go back and ask them to honour the sets that are marked 39.99 minus 30%. My guess would be that the employee was too lazy to find out why there was a price difference.

I just got back from the Dixie and Dundas store. I went to get Season 1 of 30 Rock.

The arrangement is that there is a small-ish freestanding display near the cashes that says 'TV on DVD 30% off' (or something to that effect) that has a selection of DVDs in it. Nearby, there is a much larger display with many more shows, that just says 'TV on DVD'.

I picked up the 30 Rock DVD from the larger display and waited in line. When I got to the cash, it rang in at the normal price. I said 'aren't these supposed to be 30% off?' and pointed at the display. The kid thought about it a sec and said 'Usually, the price is updated in the computer' and he decided to call a manager. While he was making the call, he figured out what 30% of the regular price was, and fairly quickly gave up on calling the manager. He adjusted the price down to $29.99 from 42.99.

The Star Trek DVDs that the OP mentioned were reduced, and on the 30% off rack, so those are certainly on sale. Other shows make take some convincing (though it was quite easy for me) so YMMV.

I don't see why not. There is a manufacturer's coupon on the season 4 box set for $20 off when you buy s4 and another season. So, with this deal you would be oop approx $55.xx plus tax for two seasons. (depends on english/french version and season #, most seem to be 52.99 or 54.99)

My 4 year old daughter is like having triples that never stop moving. So unless you are a very QUIET Trekkie, then no :).

In your opinion. I have my issues with Enterprise but it's still a good show to watch. Season 4 was the best and I wished that's really what they had started with. Season 5 would've been awesome with Manny Coto at the helm. Too bad B&B decided to screw up a great season by writting the finale. What a piece of crap. Slap in the face to all the actors on Enterprise to bring in Riker and Troi (who looked so much older than the TNG episode this dump episode was suppose to be based on). The show deserved it's own ending.

I would rather watch sci-fi than anything else. The only sci-fi show I have watched and couldn't stand was Babylon 5. I know there are fans that adore it but the first season drove me nuts. I almost gave up but on-line fans said to stick with it, it'd get better. There were things I did enjoy but the constant bad acting from certain characters and some of the storylines just were awful. I almost didn't make it through season 5. It got better in the second half which helped me finish it. But I'm never watching it again. I'm glad I borrowed the DVDs from my library.
