this might be a stupid question but will this cable work hooking up a blu-ray player to a LCD? or is this strictly just for the xbox elite?

okay price if you don't like to shop online and must have brand-name products.
Otherwise, anything on monoprice.com is still better than this and much, MUCH cheaper. (as low as $5, shipped)

Im certain it will work with any HDMI equipment, they just dress it up and throw the "xbox360" badge on it to charge more money.

maybe 5$ for you in vancouver, but not...here in quebec. around 12$ shipped for a 6" hdmi cable, and 20$ for 2.

Do you have to pay customs and brokerage if you buy stuff from monoprice though?

HDMI cable is an HDMI cable (and it should be the same as any HDMI cable). Because it was selling for $64.99 and now $19.99, it's still not consider a hot deal for me.

Not entirely sure as I haven't placed any orders above $20 US (not including shipping fees) and I haven't had to pay any customs or brokerage fees thus far.
Even if you did, they ship through Canada Post so the fees would be $5 for handling plus applicable taxes (GST +/- PST).

Honestly, $20 is not bad at all.
I'm obviously excluding monoprice, but seeing an HDMI cable in stores like FS and BB, is shocking.

Rocketfish is BB/FS's house brand right? It's kinda like saying Dynex makes brand-name TV's
Either way, $20 isn't very good. Monoprice has really good prices, and even some local shops have HDMI cables in the $10 range.

Like everyone above you said, HDMI cables are HDMI cables. It's digital. It doesn't matter. Monster cables are great quality, but there's absolutely no benefit in using them over Monoprice cables.

no no no no. a million times no. the rocketfish and all other fishes are not better than the monoprice ones. the monoprice ones are good quality shielded HDMI 1.3 certified cables. Even before I bought my LCD tv, I ordered 4 (something like $15 plus $10 shipping so obviously no customs). If you need just one, just buy this $20 rocketfish and get the HDMI cable in your hand immediately but dont be under any illusion that it is a superior product.

yep...pm'ing it for $15.49 isn't a bad price at all. This is an 8-footer, Monoprice has 8-footers for around 6$ US+shipping which brings the total to around 12$ canadian.
If you don't want to wait a week or two for the cables to arrive, then this is actually a decent deal!

I'm pretty sure only the Elite and Premium Xbox360's have an HMDI port.

So I'm only partly wrong
My pre-2008 20GB Pro model does not have an HDMI port.

Shouldn't matter. Check the pins?

All HDMI cables are all the same, it doesn't affect the "quality" of the images. The reason is because unlike analog, HDMI is a DIGITAL interface ('0' and '1'), it either WORKS or it DOESN"T, it cannot be disrupted by 'interferance" or what not (fuzzy pictures, statics etc), so the ones that claim have "shielding" is totally pointless. Though, $19.99 (or $15 PM at bestbuy) is not bad for a 8 feet HDMI cable. However, I already bougth a bunch from ebay.
