Okay so ive been with rogers for 3 years now and my contract was over recently.. i used to have one of rogers phones but i got rid of it and purchased an at&t blackberry 8820 .. my plan is pretty much crap consisting of 200 minutes n stuff .. i want a plan where i can get txt msging without media n picture txting and i am scepticle about the data plans .. can someone update me on some of the specs on the data plans .. also i want about 100-200 minutes with 5pm evening calls.. i hear there are things like corporate plans how do i get a hold of those and what are they... please if anyone could hel pit would be very nice. thanks!

EDIT: i also was wondering about the system acess fee problem ... i ve been doing my research n it seems rogers should be getting rid of the system acess fee soon.. but if i sign a contract now for 3 years does the system acess fee go away for my contract or am i stuck with it ? ... and thanks for everyone for the help .. it seems as though the corporate plan needs authorization from rogers? .. is that true ? do i need to tell them a company ... what if i dont have one can i just state that i want to take part in a corporate plan ? .. also i want a plan with sms without mms and about 150-250 minutes is enough i want to have 5 pm calling but i am scepticale about the 500MB browsing .. is there a monthly fee i have to pay untop of my contract fee for the 500MB .. and what is the 500MB used for i have a blackberry with wifi and it seems as though it doesnt work because i dont have the data plan ... help?

Step 1: Call Rogers and tell them you want to cancel your plan
Step 2: Talk to the retentions associate they send you to
Step 3: Negotiate a plan you can live with for the next three years or however long you want

Step 4: If they don't give you what you want tell them to get ****ed and that you'll be porting your number over to another carrier who has better data rates (Telus in this case, look at this (http://www.telusmobility.com/on/plans/pcs/bundles_smartphones_all.shtml)) and who will give you a free phone

Step 5: Try Rogers again to get a more reasonable retentions associate or call another carrier's customer service line and negotiate a plan to get you to switch over.

Through all of this remember that all 3 of the big carriers right now are living in fear of the new carrier that's coming online next year, and all of them will fall over backwards to commit you into as long of a contract as possible. You're completely free to go wherever you like right now, so don't settle until you get exactly what you want. The customer service people will try to make it seem like your options are far more limited than what they really are, keep trying and keep negotiating for a better deal. The worst that will happen is that Rogers will call your bluff and actually cancel your ****** contract, in which case just move on to another carrier that will treat you better or sign up as a new customer with Rogers after they cancel on you and get a brand new phone (which is easily sold) and one of the better plans they're offering to new customers these days.

Corporate plans are plans for employees of companies that have an agreement with rogers for certain plans.

For 15$ you can get 500 mb of data, 2500 (or 10,000) text messages, caller id, voicemail/visual voicemail then you just need to add your plan so you can get that 17.50 + 6.95 [SAF] + 15 + .50 [911] = 39.95 + tax = 45 and change.

I don't know if Rogers still offers that plan but it included something like 200 weekday minutes, unltd evenings and weekends from 5 or 6pm. But I believe you would have to resign for 3 years to take advantage of these deals. So if you do end up taking advantage of these you might as well go in and do an upgrade to get a free phone first.

Also look into having your phone unlocked and moving to fido. They are currently offering no system access fee's and stuff so maybe you can find a better plan for yourself there.

Its party time. The above poster has it right. Leverage your past business and good payment history for a good deal on a plan you want.

Go to telus and ask them what they'll give you and mention you've just finished a rogers contract. Take that info and tell Rogers that you appreciate their services and would like to stick with them but that they have to stay competitive.

One thing I would suggest is don't be combative or arrogant. Do your research as well and when talking to Rogers, state your "demands" politely. I can guarantee you that Rogers will bend over backwards to match whatever telus/fido/bell gives you and give you more to keep your business.

Oh ya, and have fun. I know i did when I did this to Telus with Bell's help.
