Opinions Please! compact camera

hey guys,

my gf wants to buy her boss a compact p&s camera, her budget before tax is roughly $300. I suggested the Panasonic DMC-TZ5, because is does good wide, has a 10x zoom and it's gotten good reviews regarding picture quality.

What do you guys think? what would you suggest?

The TZ5 was on my shortlist of cameras, so was the FX500, and the LX3, but I ultimately chose the F100fd.
