Okay don't laugh, but since I just rec'd my first crackberry (8330 Curve) I just learned how to download ringtones (found this sight:crackberry.com). However I've also been told that I can actually download the music that I currently have via some software that will convert parts of my song into a ringtone.

Can anyone recommend a free software package that will perform this function.

Thanx and you promise not to laugh!!!

This has nothing to do with Blackberry. What you need is a Freeware Windows Program that simply CROPS your existing MP3 Audio files from its original length and cuts it down to 30 or 20 second clips, and makes it monoural to shrink the file size down to a comparible level. Then with these audio clips, you can use them on a lot of smartphones and PDA type devices, one of them which happens to include your black berry. Search for a Windows Program that cuts down MP3s into half, its not necessarily related to cellphones, cus this is an Audio Editing software for other intended purposes too, just so you know the difference, cus most people will google for a cellphone ringtone program or such.. haha weird..

Anyways, Enjoy!

thanx for the advice. Now can you specifically recommend a free program that will do this for my Curve.
Second question, I'm assuming that you work for Bell Mobility. If so, how do I prolong the ringer so that VM doesn't kick in too early???
