so how can i be sure when using wifi that i won't be using data and be charge from rogers???

I had the data blocked so i won't be charge but found out that the data blockage is the reason my wifi doesn't work so had to get that removed from Rogers and now wifi is working. The phone has a option of blocking data too but also has the problem if i block data the wifi won't work and now i am afraid that when i use wifi and accidentally use data i will get charged.

Isn't there anyway i can feel safe surfing with wifi without worrying about this??

I know some people turned off their cellular signal and use wifi but you won't be able to call or receive from people which sucks...

or someone said something about calling rogers and telling them to block internet.com and blackberry.com apn and you would be fine???

another way i heard was downloading opera mini and going into the settings and set it to "wifi" as the default connection.

So can anyone help me with this??

Sounds like a phone dependent issue, so it would be helpful if you mentioned what kind of phone you have.

I have an iPhone, have data blocked, and have no problems using wifi.

With the iphone you have to import some settings to change the apn so that your phone doesnt access the cellular data rather than wifi.

delete all of the rogers access points, set the phone to "ask always" when connecting to any sort of network. double check with rogers reps about the data blockage as well.

You can do that but you don't have to. You just have to call Rogers and get them to block data (and make sure you talk to iPhone technical support)
