Cell Phones DO NOT count. LOL
Just wondering who here takes their Digital Camera with them, why?
I got my new Canon PowerShot SD1100IS yesterday and it's really Slim that I now take it with me, I'm glad I got the matching Mocha case too. I doubt this will last/just excited. :cheesygri

Everywhere I go, I'm going because of what my camera is going to capture. :) LOL. Kidding, kinda.
Really just depends what I'm doing though. I don't use point and shoots though, so I don't carry it, unless there's a reason.

It goes with me when there's someone paying $100 an hour for me to shoot people getting drunk and dance badly in a dimly lit room.:)

Im assuming clubs.... They pay that much?
For me my 24-70 and 70-200 and 10-22 and Xti and 20D on my back 24hrs a day 7 days a week!
LOL! YA RIGHT!
Depends but I will either have my XTi + 1 walk around lense if there is a chance of something interesting to shoot or just my SD700IS. Never go cameraless though... Like my friend always says "What if a spaceship lands on a random day? You want to miss out on that?"

I don't and I honestly think it is a little wierd to carry around a dSLR everywhere you go; if i had a good slim camera I wouldn't mind though (vs. bulky dSLR) . The few times I have taken my dSLR places; people think I am a professional photographer which I don't really like.

I wish i could. but a 40D + 24-105mmL isn't exactly pocket friendly lol.
but getting a SD1100 for xmas and the smallest, tightest leather case possible so i can bring it with me whether now :)
there has been lots of time i wish i had a camera

I carry my SD400 around everytime I go out to the bar or something. Not if I'm heading over to someone's house to chill.
Only carry my dslr around if I've planned to go somewhere to shoot. Don't carry around the thing for the fun of it

Yes, without a doubt.
I always have one or two of my 7 cameras with me. :cheesygri

The reason I probably will never get a DSLR is the size - I cannot carry something like that around with me all the time. I have an SD1000 that does go most places with me, though.

Yup, I always have a camera with me. I own both a DSLR and a slimmer Canon camera. I usually have the smaller one on me rather than the DSLR. You never know when you will need your camera for a shot and cellphone cams just don't cut it for me. Well mine at least.

If I don't expect anything exciting, I've always got my G9. If it will be a semi-cloudy day in the summer, or a crisp autumn day before the rain destroys the leaves, the 40D wil be accompanying me with most of my fave lenses.

yes, i always bring my SLR with me and am ready to "get that shot", except going to work.
even if its a small trip to the grocery store, i'll bring it but just put on a smaller prime lens

I have a photography class at school.
Lately i've been bringing it every day to school for school assignments and random studio fun after we finish the day's grad photo shoots :D
There's nothing to shoot on my way to school or way back home though...
Anyone know what appropriation is? I cant seem to get any ideas :(

There is nothing to shoot? Try sitting in one spot and taking 20 meaningfull photograpghs. That will help open your eyes to new things...

It varies, I know other guys who are paid between $30/hr to $100/hr. It's who you know in the business. All you really need is a short to med. zoom, shoe-in flash, maybe a diffuser and 1-2GB card and that's it. For me that's my 40D, 17-55mm IS 2.8, 580EX w/catch light up, 2GB CF and 2 sets of batteries.
Recently I've learned not to carry my DSLR to every function I attend, unlike the old days when I first started. For birthdays and casual dinners, I'll just bring along my Fuji F40Fd now. For skiing, the same...but I pack it away the second half of the day.
