WILLMAR, Minn. – A 50-year-old man told authorities he was fed up with teens toilet-papering his house during homecoming week. This year, he decided to defend his property — with a squirt gun filled with fox urine.
Now, Scott Wagar is in trouble with the law. He pleaded not guilty on Wednesday in Kandiyohi County District Court to misdemeanor assault and other charges. He was released on personal recognizance.
According to police, on Sept. 16, Wagar used night vision goggles and saw 15-20 people running toward his place. He told them to leave and sprayed them with the fox urine. He also struggled with one teen who he says grabbed him from behind.
In an interview with The Associated Press on Thursday, Wagar says he's innocent, and has a right to defend his property. He says groups of teens have been toilet-papering and egging his house during homecoming for about eight years, and each year it gets more destructive.
He says he sprayed the kids with a mixture of one-third fox urine and two-thirds water because "it stinks, but it doesn't hurt anything."
The question is, how the hell did he get a bottle of fox urine?

I have mixed feelings about this. If it was just TP that would be excessive, but there were eggs thrown too... and after a few years of that I'd be mad too. But why not call the cops?
Hmmm.
Maybe he runs a public toilet for foxes?

I don't think that his actions would cause any perminent harm to the kids and they should not have been doing what they were doing so I don't see an issue with the guys actions. Even if they have to throw out the cloths they were wearing it would most likely not amount to more than the damage they were going to do to his property.

Hunting supplies. It's main use is to try and deter small animals. (We tried it with raccoons, didn't work.)
I kind of agree with him. I'd be fed up too, but calling the cops would have been a better idea. They should be thankful he watered it down or that he didn't use something more potent like skunk.

Calling the cops is useless. You have to catch them in the act, identify them, paperwork, etc, etc.
Some punks, probably mid-teens, were playing nikki nine door last night and my wife saw them come up as she walked down the front stairs which were unlit, opened the door right after the hard knock and caught them offguard and asked if they came to play with our dog who was being held back by her and growling pretty fierce, they ran, lol.

There is no way the cops would be able to do anything because they're not going to hide and wait for the culprits and calling them after the fact won't do any good.
The guy took some actions that were not dangerous and harmful to the well-being of the kids and would have been effective had the whiny teens not cried foul. Their parents probably will have a lawsuit against the poor guy now, claiming their poor innocent kids can't sleep at night and need therapy or whatever. Just another example of how in our society poor behaviour is rewarded. The guy should have had the right to protect his home.
Heck, those kids are just lucky he didn't shoot them like some nutcases have been known to do.

If he had shot them with a gun, at least he'd get a free defense lawyer courtesy of the NRA. Since it's only pee, he's on his own.

Would've been easier to prevent if he built a fence and added bear traps on his farm with warning signs. Of course, build the bear traps further in so they let their guard down. j/king to the serious people.
Stupid teens deserved it. Worse things could've happened. Shouldn't this man be traumatized after 8 years of harassment? Hint hint?

Have these kids no shame? Have the balls to call the authorities after trying to egg this guy's house.

He should have said that he was out fertilizing his lawn, at night when there's no sun to evaporate the piss, and it's not his fault that kids were trespassing on his property.

i tihnk in the states if you build a fence with a shoot on tresspass sign its alright 2 shoot if they are in your property.
its sucks when you face teens since ur liable for everything, they should send the kids to jouvie or some kind of detention center

Might be a better idea if the kids had to clean up the whole neighbourhood for a month, you know instead of throwing them with real criminal delinquents and mold them into criminals.

I think the amount of force he used was reasonable for the situation. Nobody got hurt (or had any reasonable chance of getting hurt), so the kids should STFU and stop crying.

This is not acceptable. Things degenerate quickly with teenagers, and a responsible adult should know that. They toilet paper, you urinate, then what do they do? Just run off cause eww urine? these are boys, not girls. They'll come back with a vengeance. Videotape, identify and report to the police. Repeatedly if you have to.

Tar and feather them then
If they come back then change the tar for dog crap, and the feathers for sand.

Does that mean the teens called the cops on this guy or maybe their parents?
Why didn't he call the cops for vandelization? Or maybe he did and then the cops through back the charge on him.
There seems to be something missing from this story.

Hilarious. Those little brats got what they deserved.
I think that that day would be a great day to visit a courthouse.

+1
On a side note, I'm surprised the guy got charged. This happened in the States, for god's sake, where using a gun to protect your own property is legal.
