Prediction contest - For Cash and Prizes

I just came across a cool website that awards you cash and prizes for correctly predicting an event (i.e. what will be the #1 movie in the US box office on a particular weekend). It's free to sign up and there are new contests weekly. Starting in March, they will have a monthly auction which you can use the credits that you earn from correct predictions and referrals to bid on prizes.
Every month, an item will be auctioned off like Games, Movies, Digital Cameras, iPods, GPS Navigators, DVD/Bluray Players, XBOXs, PS3s, Widescreen TVs, etc.
The google ads on the site is what the site uses to fund the prize and cash giveaways. This site was launched recently and is a lot of fun.

That's awesome but I'm sure there are limits. Somehow I don't think we'll see a BMW auctioned off anytime soon. Wouldn't mind a GPS Navigator though. Hope that's the first item auctioned. Better stay on top of the predictions though. Looks like that's the best way to get those credits you need to bid with.

Strong bump I know, but I just got this email tonight:


Hello dedicated members,

We regret to inform you all that this Saturday, MYP will be closing it's doors for good. We've spent an entire year trying to make this site as prosperous and successful as possible but unfortunately, whether due to poor marketing techniques or just simply a bad economy, we've failed to generate any kind of profit. We had budgeted to keep afloat for at least this long but we had hoped that by now, the site would grow enough to attract sponsorship and heavier interest towards our Google ads. This, however, has not been the case. Thus, we have been forced to shut down.

We understand that this must be quite a shock for many of you, especially the extremely committed tommygunns out there but we have no choice. We are deeply thankful for everyone's participation on the site and for everyone's positive feedback. Many of you had made great attempts at spreading the good word about us, have shown a lot of love for the site, and commented on our over the top service. We appreciate everything you have all done to make us as great as possible. Many of you have even stated that we are your favourite site so it is nice to know that we have made at least that kind of impact.

We hope our efforts have been recognized despite this sad demise. We are open to any last minute suggestions and comments you all can offer to save the site over the next few days but if nothing appears to be worthy enough to attempt in order to salvage the site one more time then this Saturday will be our last day online. We welcome your posts and emails (service@makeyourprediction.com). Assuming this is it though, we thank you once again for being a member and doing your part.
