Some cool ideas there. What my uncle did for me was put it in a big box, then a smalled box inside, then a smaller one. There were like 5, fully wrapped boxes I had to go through.

I didn't read the article so this might already be in there. When I graduated and moved to Ottawa, my ex's parents gave us a cheque for $1000 along with a pic of what they wanted us to use it for (all stuff we'd been talking about buying), like a bbq, a new duvet, some other stuff I don't remember. They had cut the pics out of advertisements and pasted them inside the card with the cheque. Pretty cool idea I thought, especially considering the in-laws lived in Windsor and we would have had way too much stuff to bring back with us, and, more importantly we were able to pick out the exact ones we wanted. Since Ottawa has my favourite duvet store, buying it there was possible where it wouldn't have been if they had just bought us one in Windsor.
AND to make sure we didn't spend it on necessities, they put a note in the card that they wanted pics of everything we bought with the money....sooooo we were forced to have fun with it and shop! I know, tough job but someone has to do it...lol.
Anyway, I've now done that a couple times, especially for people who lived out of town and they loved the idea.
