my gps doesnt work when its charging in the car charger, is there a way to turn it on while its charging?

I have a Garmin 360, and has no prioblem working while being charged in the car as long as the car engine is running. When I turn off the engine, all power shuts down, including the Garmin GPS charger.

are you using the supplied car charger?

if you use an another mini usb car charger (blackberry, motorola car charger), it goes into "connected to pc mode"

Then that's your answer, you can't use 3rd party stuff with Garmin, only Garmin hardware
