I been looking at couple of threads on RFD's And i notice that some people say " do oil flush". I was wondering if that there is difference between both or is it the same meaning.
Thank for viewing.

I believe a flush clears the old oil out completely. A change just changes the oil.

Don't bother with the oil flushes. Get your oil and filter changed on time.

People who do motor oil flushes are mocked by auto service staff. It involves draining the oil, filling with sacrificial oil, running the engine, then immediately draining the new oil, only to replace it again. It's a double oil change.
The reason behind it is to have a more complete oil change, because not all the oil is in the pan. But most is, and the benefits are small. Regular oil and filter changes will do just fine.
Now, service advisors will try to sell you transmission fluid flushes. Don't do it. This involves forcing fluid through the transmission, and can be damaging. Better is just to let the car's pump do the work. It takes longer, but it's gentler on your transmission. Shops like the flushing machine because it is fast and allows for quick vehicle turnover, and more profit.
Google "transmission flush".

Question....when I first got my van, the shop we go to put synthetic in it (because we always used it on my X5). I thinks it's a waste of money in a GM van, I'd have to have it flushed to change back right?
TIA

No, synthetic oils are compatible with dino juice. In many cases these days, "sythetic oil" is mostly dino juice anyway. "Synthetic" doesn't usually mean what you think it means any more.
