lowest price i've ever seen. Last year's model on Boxing Day was 649.99

Blackjack
Dec 8th, 2008, 08:21 PM
That's the best price I have seen so far---will it go any lower? Boxing day?

Best price previously: $525 w/$25 coupon from Sears

It would probably be safe to pick this TV up now---then using FS 30 day price-protection policy should there be any lower pricing.

I caved...that's my boxing day deal.

ISPU is disabled :(

It says:

Sale Ends:
12/9/2008

Does that mean it ends at the START of the day tomorrow, or the end of the day???

Damn! I got it just under 4 weeks ago from BB for $539.99

Now it's cheaper and it's a different store so I don't think I can price adjust!

I went to the store earlier ready to buy this for $599 plus 10% off but they had it at $589 on sale so the 10% didn't work. I went home and checked the web and it was $499 on the Future Shop web site. Went back to the store and had it price matched. I've been keeping my eye on this tv for a while as a gift and this is the lowest I have found it.

Man, I'm set on getting a panel this year, but these prices are only getting better.

My dad works in electronics distribution, and says the overall stock in the system is insane, so the prices will have to come down even more to offload them all.

Bear in mind all the retailers made and paid their huge Christmas orders months ago. When the money dried up in sept/oct, the TVs were already in container ships on their way here from China.

So if we weren't to open this TV, is it 30 days return policy? or 14 days?

Like people have said, prices are going down, so might as well put another $100-$200 and get a 1080P 40" instead....

Great deal for a sammie 32"

One thing to think about, sure prices are sure to fall. But there's a point where it wont fall down to. 40" 1080p TV prices will probably be min of $750 or so.

You're right on that part. I'm just saying... but come to think of it, for the quality of a 40" 1080p, it won't be less than $800-$900 - I guess of course you can always get those Dynex or Insignia ones - but its not like the quality per $$ you are getting with this sammy.

Nonetheless the fact of the matter is that purchase orders were made (yes probably a couple months ago) based on a much higher estimated pattern of demand, which has quickly dried up since everyone is starting to save, and/or wait for prices to fall.

Inventories = huge and only way to get rid of this is dropping prices like its hot ;)

This is one reason why i think prices might not be significantly better (in electronics) after end of year, as retailers have realized that growth outlook is low, they order less units and do not have to offer such crazy deals. Can you tell i work at a retailer? lol

Dec 8th, 2008, 10:09 PM
This is smoking hot, esp. since you can PM at BB for additional savings. This model is the definitive 32" TV and consistently gets rave professional and user reviews on all the major websites. I was seriously looking at this model even at the original price point a few weeks ago, but in the end decided it was too small for my needs. These will probably sell out in a few days anywhere that's willing to match the price.

I jumped on it - because even if it is say $449 or something on Boxing day, there will be like 5-10 per store - and its hard to be one of the first ones just to save another $50 in this case scenario...

you probably are gettin mixed up with the input capabilities.
yes the tv can receive a 1080p signal but will it display it at 1080p?
It will not. As the above poster mentioned both tvs do in fact have display capibilites of 720p. So these are not 1080p sets.

The contrast ratios given are both dynamic. they are measured by the companies using somewhat different methods. the numbers are meaningless. the higher one does not mean it displays a wider range of color shades.

I would go with the Samsung over the Toshiba. I find it looks a little better than the Toshiba. It also has a swivel base if that is important to you.

All the drooling from you guys is the sole reason for these 32" to stay relatively pricey:D

At least, try PM and pick up at the store. You can bring a 32" on TTC and the -10% delta helps too. Still not what I'd consider super value but then it's just me becasue I don't need a 32"...

The reason why it's $50 off when you add to your cart is because the customer appreciation sale is on right now, and that ends Dec 9 @ 10:00 EST.

The Samsung is excluded from the customer appreciation sale for some reason.

The Samsung is defiantly the winner in terms of PQ, and it also has one more HDMI port compared, along with 2ms faster response time. But if I were buying one, I'd buy the Toshiba just due to it being $50 less.

My god...need to spell everything out for you eh.

Just buy another one if it's cheaper and return this one.

or easier is browse the futureshop site yourself to find their policy. Considering you know the difference between price protection and product service plan, shame on you for not trying to help and just sit there and correcting people.

Here is the Correct one.

3 great reasons to buy at Future Shop.

1) If you find a lower advertised price we will beat it by 10% of the difference.
2) If you find a lower advertised price within 30 days* of your purchase we
will beat it by 10% of the difference.
3) If our own price is reduced within 30 days* of your purchase, bring in your
receipt and we will refund the difference.

* 14 days for computers, laptops, monitors, printers, camcorders, digital cameras, portable DVD players, radar detectors, projectors and air conditioners. (http://www.futureshop.ca/informationcentre/EN/onlinepolicies.asp?logon=&langid=EN)

Their online and in store policy are the same. Hope it helps.

I was just within the 30 days (by 3 days) so I got my price protection. But I did notice that when I pulled up my orders I had ordered it on Nov 10 but picked it up and paid for it on Nov 11 so I was told the 30 days runs from Nov 11 when I paid for it. Lucky it was not closer or I would have been disappointed as I was working it out from Nov 10 when I ordered it.

Just did a quick check on how hot this deal might be.

The American Costco is selling 32 Sharp (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11313797&whse=BC&Ne=5000002%204000000&eCat=BC|79|2341|3316&N=4001382%204294908733&Mo=16&pos=1&No=15&ViewAll=17&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&ec=BC-EC10605-Cat2341&topnav=) for 499.99 regular price.

And that's not even the cheapest place to get TV. With the exchange rate and stuff, I think it's possible to get a comparable deal. LCD price is dropping like a rock. Especially these relatively smaller size TVs.

Just my 2 cent to share.

It'll all depend on what you use your computer for. Personally I'd stick with the higher resolution on a smaller screen, especially at only ~3' away, but then again I opted to get a 22" lenovo monitor with 1920x1200 instead of a 24" with the same resolution.

The question now is, do I return the $675 27" Dell UltraSharp and get this $565 Sammy as my monitor instead? I'd save $110 and have a bigger screen...mind you a crappier resolution.....but I do sit ~3 feet from my monitor
thanks

If you're using it as a monitor I would opt for 1080p instead for the resolution. It's the only reason I haven't jumped on this already, I'm hoping for a 1080p around this price before I jump on it.

I just ordered one online for in-store pickup (ISPU) this morning.

I tried last night but the ISPU system was down (I spoke to FutureShop web support and they confirmed they were working on it last night and told me to try again later). It was back up when I tried at 7:30am today.

This TV is for my Dad to replace his 27" CRT that is on the fritz. Looks like a good deal.

Same here. Or I would be at Best Buys this morning to PM.

Pulled the trigger on this one for the mother-in-law.
She needs a new YV to add some space to her room.
Great deal, better than the 2 year old LG TV I have.
Hopefully, the wife sees how beautiful the picture is and asks for one for our house :)

Just ordered one for ISPU, any recommended wall mount? I checked the LCD wall mount thread and some suggested costco for $80 or this site: http://www.onlybestrated.com/mounts-c-58.html which I am reluctant to give out my CC numbers.

I knew I'd regret having purchased the Samsung 26" back in September.

You should have no regrets. That's how the technology rolls these days. Unless you have a true insider, there is absolutely no way to time the pricing.

I caved... further justified it by getting the much needed HD 4250 receiver for $99.

It appears as though the deal is now dead. Both TV's are now back to $650.
LAME!

I know you can't go back in time but a couple of weeks ago the LN32A550 was on sale at bestbuy for $599 http://rfd-web1.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=665804
is the 1080p on this 32" tv worth the $100?

damn... I'm tempted to take my reciept to BestBuy and try my luck at PMing today :) just to use the $25 coupon
LOL

Let's see if any Boxing Day Deals beat this.

edit: my reciept just says that I paid 499.99 today, I wonder if someone would do it for me tomorrow + the bestbuy rewards coupon...
