View Full Version : Defogging Rear Windows?

I don't mean my read window at the back, I mean my passenger side door windows in the back seat.

I've been having trouble lately getting the windows to defog - to the point where it is impossible to see out of them, which is pretty friggin dangerous!

I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same problem, or any kind of solution to it?

I'm driving a 2008 4-door Cobalt if it helps.

Is the ventilation setting on "re-circulate" or "fresh air"?

If it is already in "fresh air" you may have too much moisture (snow brought in from driver / passengers and stays in carpet) beyond the capacity of the ventilation system. Turn up the fan and leave a small gap on the rear windows for better ventilation.

Another reason is the ventilation is stuck in "re-circulate" even you set it to "fresh air". This you have to get it fixed.

I'll try next time setting it on fresh air.

I didn't have a problem with it this morning (it seems to be off and on - depends on the day).

You need the Air Conditioner on, even in the winter on heat. Use fresh air, recirculated air will fog your windows significantly faster.

You can try to spray some anti-fog stuff on the windows. Stuff ppl use on glasses. Might work. Or open the window half way to let some cold air in.

Turn on heat and A/C. it should clear that right up.
