I was in an accident this A.M. My bad because, contrary to my habit, I omitted to check in the rearview mirror before backing up in the free space in front of the store I wanted to go to. The bus clipped my car and tore away the front bumper and dented the front end. Damages on the bus are, needless to say, minimal. The police came and the bus driver filled out a 'constat à l'amiable' describing the incident.
My question is: would it be better for me to pay out of pocket for the repairs to my car instead of going through my insurance.... and having to pay for the next several years in the form of higher premiums?
Any of you know of RELIABLE and REASONABLY inexpensive body repair shops in the Ottawa-Gatineau area, or would it be better for me to go to my dealer -- Lallier Honda, who has a good reputation -- to have the repairs done?
BTW, my car is a 1999 Honda Accord... if it matters any. We're not talking new car here, even though it is very well kept.
