I have a cheapo PC AMD X2 4400 with a 400W PSU (no name brand).
2Gb of RAM, 2 SATA Drives, DVD and 8800GT video card.

Not a rocket, but I can play games with decent details.
Just upgraded to Vista (SP1) from XP SP3

I have a weird problem, while playing Far Cry 2, the PC crashes totaly.
Power button light is flashing, and the only way to turn computer back on, is to unplug the PSU.

I always knew my PSU was borderline for my setup. But I've never had any problem before playing recent games (just finished Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway) without any problem. Is it PSU related? Far Cry 2, Vista...

Any ideas?

Seems like you've nailed it.
No name branded PSU should be avoided like a plague imo. They don't run anywhere near their rated wattage and they tend to be very inefficient (~60%).
You'll be doing your rig a favour by at least getting an Antec Earthwatts.

Try running Prime95 + FurMark simultaneously. This should max out the system's power.

I just started having a similar problem with one of my systems. The computer automatically shuts itself off, and won't turn back on unless I power cycle the PSU. Guess what ... ironically the PSU is an Antec EarthWatts 650W PSU that's about 5 days old!!

I figure I'd try Antec out, it was cheap. I usually buy Seasonic though, and I've never had a problem with them. I recommend Seasonic over Antec.
