I was just talking to telus and this is what they offered me

I am currently on a 3 year contract, with 2 years remaining, i'm looking to get a cellphone for my wife and he offered

400 shared minutes
unlimited calls between both phones
evenings after 5 free, weekends free
voice mail for both
caller id free for 2 years for me, and 1 year for the new phone
the new phone is on a 3 year contract plus i have to pay 10 dollars to hook it up
59 bucks plus taxes, systems were already included in the 59 dollars.

Any good?

Who did you talk to? CS or L&R?

This does not seem that hot to me ... I would personally push for more ...
- free CID/VM/TXT for the duration of contract at least ...

+ get them to waive the phone activation fee's.

I just finished my 3 year contract and have just arranged a new one. The plan you have now is better than the share plan I had for my contract but they've offered something better for signing a new contract. Rather than doing share, we're doing 2 separate phones.

300 minutes each
Free telus to telus (might want to ask for this instead of free between the two phones if you know others on Telus)
Free evenings/weekends at 6 p.m. (yours is better - starts at 5 so it may offset some of the additional minutes I get).
Free voicemail, caller id for 3 years
I wasn't going to ask for texting, but since Telus is the only company that charges for incoming I did and they gave me unlimited incoming/250 outgoing per month which is enough for us.

They're also rebating the activation fee that the dealer charges for a handset swap.

Including taxes/SAF we're at $58 and a few cents a month for the 2 phones. I've seen people post with better plans than I got, but I'm relatively happy with this plan and it is much better than what we had.

If you talked to a regular CSR, call Loyalty and Retentions directly at 1-877-279-3100. They were very helpful to me and willing (within reason) to give you the features you want at a fair price. Now would be the best time for you to get what you want since you're an existing client with 2 years to go, but you're signing up a new contract.
