Cancel a credit card with annual fee

I would like to cancel my aerogold visa from CIBC. I renew my annual fee back in September. Do you know if I can cancel the card and have all or partial of the annual fee back?

So could one sign up for one of the cards that have bonus point promotions, cancel it, get their refund AND get to keep the points? (Like the 10K Aeroplan I'm seeing on the banners here)

Good question. I'd imagine that it would depend on how many people do so :). Or there may be some restriction on cancelling in the first year.
