This seems to be a decent deal for an 80GB PS3 bundle.

If you plan to use your PS3 as a media center, then the blu-ray remote is a must. Using a DS3 controller doesn't even compare to using the remote.

The controllers go for about $50-60 brand new in stores, and the remote controller is about $25. The HDMI cable is about $10-20 from Monoprice. If it the Sony branded HDMI cable then that goes for about $40 I think. The best part is, the shipping is free! IMO, Dell's shipping has gotten a little bit better since last year, but still expect to wait a bit.

Sony has been making this "stripped down" version for the entire planet for months now. The last 80gb units with BWC, extra usb slots, etc etc, were the MGS4 bundles.

Weird... I just bought a 6ft HDMI cable from Monoprice last week, and after the USD/CDN conversion and shipping it came out to about $10(possibly a bit more).

If you wait you might be able to save yourself a few bucks on the controllers and remote. Brand new and at regular price the controllers are around $55, and the remote is $25. If you wait 5 years down the road you might even save more. The controllers will prolly be going for about $30, and the remote for $10. :P

DS3 controllers are $47 on amazon.ca - you can't count on using that VISA coupon, especially multiple times.

By my math, that means $399 + $47 + $47 + $25 + $10 = $528. Still not a huge savings, but the hassle factor is as low as it gets...

and how is it a hassle for me to order things online...it even gets delivered to my door (and the shipping is free or included in the price I gave)

My point is that with the current working amazon coupon and the monoprice HDMI cable, you can definitely find a better price than this.

Monoprice always has daily deals on HDMI cables, the latest being only a few days ago where a 6ft 1.3b cable was $2.97 + $3 shipping to my door.

this deal doenst seem to be hot at all.. look at it like this..

399.99 ps3 at EB games gets you also a free game now worth 60 dollars..

use the 10 off amazon.ca coupon twice and you get each controller for 38 dollars (pre tax), 10 dollars for the hmdi wire... get the remote from amazon.ca with sin city blu-ray and dusk till dawn blu ray (13 each) and use coupon... will be 40....

so for 400 + 38 + 38 + 10 + 40 = $526...

so for 26 dollars more, you get a brand new 60 dollar game and 2 blu-ray movies.. seems good to me..
