Have been thinking about picking up a Blu-Ray player, this one seems to get good reviews, and $250 isn't bad. Sale ends on the 26th.
There's no Visions stores in Ontario, but shipping is only $12.65 to where I am.

Is the BD35 that much better? I have an aversion to Sony but would consider the Panasonic...

Samsung, is not the best option. I read too many issues, not only on certain BD's but especially with PIP/BD-Live.
the BD35 & the BD55 is the best rated standalone player
Fixed. LOL I picked up the DMP-BD55K yesterday. I went with Panasonic again because I was so impressed with the BD30K, it matched up against Sony's PlayStation 3.
If money is tight I would recommend the Sony BDP-S350, I think it's going for $199.99 with Sears $25 coupon.
Over at File, AVS. If you don't care for BD-Live and want the Best Picture, The Pioneer BDP-51FD is THE player to get but I love Special Features and my store doesn't carry Pioneer.

the BD55 is too expensive
the only real option it provides over the 35 is the ability to play AVCHD off an SD card
witht that said........ does it support AVCHD that aren't a standard resolution like 1280x720 or 1920x1080?
I have movies that are like 1440x1080 and stuff like that

I don't think so
the only thing good about teh PS3 is it's speed and the fact it's futureproof
