Saw this deal in the current flyer, not bad at $79.99, The link is:

Not a great supply but ok for $79.99. Here's a review:

Good efficiency up 420W and then it drops off below 80% above that power draw. Certainly at regular price this would not be worth it at all.

personally.. users should never skimp out on the PSU in a computer PLEASE. It'll save you some grief later on.

Personally i think we are better off waiting and looking for another PSU when that comes on sale. There have been a couple recently as well.

80 bucks gets you a much better brand-name PSU. You'd have to be a moron to get such a PSU for that much. Besides, 700W is overkill for most people. Unless you're running GTX 280s in SLI with an overclocked quad, you won't need it. Edit: Good examples in that price range: OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W, PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610W, among others that are often on sale.

This rocketfish was tempting for easy local pick-up in London. Reviews scared me off. Alternate recommendations with links and cheap shipping would be very welcome!

I have a cheap but quiet SafePower 550 but I'm bluescreening every now and then. Seems unplugging the 3rd hard drive fixes it. Scratching my head a little here as online calculators are telling me I should only need 386w. But that seems really really low to me? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Q6600
2 x 2G DDR2 (800MHz)
2 x 8600GT (running 4 monitors, not running in SLI if that makes a difference)
3 x SATA 7200
1 X DVD-RW
2 x 120mm fans
Maybe 8 usb drawing minimal power.

There's the problem. Most generic PSU wattage ratings mean jack. If that was a quality unit it would have no problem with that load. Your best bet not to break the bank is to look for a deal on an OCZ StealthXtreme, Antec, Corsair or another good brand PSU. As S_G already said, this kind of money can get you a much better PSU.

Personally if you're looking for price/performance, i still think the StealthXtreme 600W is a good deal for your application. Not sure what the going rates are these days but a while back when i was looking, i found a great deal on those PSU's but ended up getting a killer deal on a TruePower Trio 550W.

That's excessive. His system most likely does not exceed 400W under load.

So if NewEgg is right at 572, think the StealthXtreme 600 is really enough then?

Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated.

I'd grab this only for a system that isn't a modern mid-to-high gaming system.

The results of today’s foray into Best Buy house branded power supplies as it relates to these two power supplies (the Dynex DX-400WPS and Rocketfish RF-700WPS) leaves us with one piece of advice; if users are tempted to buy either of these power supplies, think again.

I wouldn't get this PS at all at this price no matter which 'end' of the systems you are building .....

Heh, some rocketfish stuff were rebadged Lian Li, but I think those were only the cases.
