Social Media and Web Entrepreneur Groups

Hey I was wondering if any of you guys are familiar with any good groups that gather for events/talks related to social media and web entrepreneur geared individuals in the GTA?

Any first hand experiences or recommendations would be awesome! I'm looking to try to network more with more web geared folks I guess since web has always been one of my big things. Maybe find a good group of people to start-up some idea. Who knows.

Guy at my old work was "the social media guy" (as in, that was his job) and he swore by these two events. He made TONS of connections with the biggest names in the industry.

going to conferences usually is a good networking fling, they are posted months ahead so you can save up for the admission fee which is usually a large number.

But does anyone have any good startup conf's or web entrepreneur conf's within a 2 hour plane ride (or hopefully IN the city) of Vancouver?
