Yesterday, I got lured into buying three "lacoste" polos from the following thread posted by faffee at her asking price:

http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=649737

When I first read her posting, I sent her an email based on the address she provides in the thread inquiring about the authenticity of the T-shirts. She replied me back with a clear answer that they're authentic. So I proceeded to make the transaction complete by giving her my phone number. Yesterday, she called me in the morning and we agreed to meet at 4pm at St-George station as her request. In the meeting, I did inspect one of three T-shirts visually for around 15-20 minutes and paid for them after all eventhough I still cannot sure that they're not fakes. I only did that because I trusted her words, not due to my visual inspection. She looks trustworthy and is a student of U of T. But after I went home and spent a few hours searching on Google about "how to spot a fake lacoste polo", comparing with some images and following carefully the instructions, I come to a conclusion that the T-shirts I bought are all fakes. I also have to mention that I did do searching for the instructions before I went to see her but obviously I can only inspect them exactly when I have them in hand with all the images and instructions in front of me, right? One of the other two ones I didn't have time to inspect even has different buttons. Anyways, I tried calling her many times at different times last night and today, even tried sending some text messages stating that I want to return the items and require her to contact me back asap but there was no answer at all. Before the transaction was complete, reaching her was quite easy. She doesn't have gut to talk with me on the phone. Finally, I got an email from her a few hours ago saying that I cannot return the items because they're final sale. Obviously, she already know the originality of the T-shirts and tried to scam people out of their innocence(lack of knowledge). How can the rule "final sale" be applied when she was not honest to buyer and sold fakes on this forum?
I noticed that she is trying to sell some other stuffs as well on the same thread. As a consequence, please be aware of this seller before you buy anything from her.
Some information on her I got so far:
UserId on RFD: faffee

mmm just cuz she goes to UT doesn't mean she's trustworthy. i go to UT and I don't trust half of the people there :P

anyway, maybe she doesn't know the shirts are fake? also, if you could provide some pictures of the tshirts, and provide the link you used (assuming it's a trustworthy guide) i guess there's something RFD could do for you? selling fakes is obviously against the forum rules...

anyway good luck, i am just gonna observe how this matter turns out (because no one really sold fake stuff here and got caught?)

Yeah, a sellers reputation so have nothing to do with the place of learning of place of employment.

If she did not know the shirts are fake, why is she avoiding him and not responding to him. I agree, post pictures of the shirts she sold you pointing out how you can tell they are fake.

IDK if there has been a thread in the scammers & warnings section but I have seen fake Jordans and Nikes for sale in the BST section and have seen Sold placed in the thread so they have been sold on here.

Leave her negative feedback.

What you should of done was to get her to email you photo's of the shirts. That way you know exactly what you are getting before hand. Any brand name items selling for super cheap are almost always fake.

Latest update: she admitted that she did not know they're fakes and agreed to meet me on Monday for a refund. I hope this case would be finished here.

Thanks all for your attention.

You guys may have more information on how to spot a fake lacoste here:

I actually found more postings on this issue but after having read all of them, I counted most on the above ones.

Glad to see you got your money back, but 10 bucks says she sells them to someone else.

Hopefully she doesn't sell anything here again without paying Sponsored Poster fees. She's clearly in business.
