I've never done this before... because I've never felt compelled to write something like this before, however, in this thread, I shall outline my experience, which is the worst transaction I've ever done on RFD, and that is with the user "PANZERIV (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/member.php?u=30976)"
Firstly, I've been looking for a decent P45 mobo to accompany my E8400 cpu. I figure that a board like that a decent board may be the GIGABYTE EP45 DS3R. So I've looked around, and I stumbled on this thread. http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=625952
It looked somewhat like this http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/9527/originalpostkv3.jpg when I visited the thread, except the mobo didnt say sold, it had a price. Everything else was the same.
The OP posted that he had an E8500 (which was sold by the time I visited the thread) as well as a "mobo" located at http://www.microbytes.com/computer/ordinateur/advanced_search_result.php?mBqSiD=00f0b1fccbe2531c 433863f961bc6667&keywords=DS3R&qfsubmit.x=0&qfsubmit.y=0&qfsubmit=submit
From that link, I saw 2 mobos, the GIGABYTE EP45-DS3R and the GIGABYTE EP45T-DS3R. I did think that it was a little strange that he did not mention the mobo name inside his post, but I exercised some precaution when I PM'd him with the subject "EP45-DS3R"

So we set it all up, he requests a money order, and I barter with him and got $110 shipped since I had to send the money order. I pretty much figured that this "EP45 DS3R" wasn't sold because people didn't investigate his thread deep enough to figure out he was actually selling an EP45-DS3R, since he only had a link posted on his thread. Also, the fact that he only accepts money orders may turn potential buyers off. I also didn't think it was an absolutely ridiculous price either, someone from Vancouver was ready to take $125 shipped. And I know the feeling, that when you don't need something, you'll give the buyer a really nice deal.

I also confirm with him that it is the EP45-DS3R NOT the EP45T-DS3R because the EP45T-DS3R only takes DDR3! He affirms that yes, it is the "DS3R" version.. (looking back at it, I believe he purposely left out the "EP35/EP45" part)
http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/8186/20614468dm8.jpg
Then I was feeling good about things and everything was going my way, I asked him to ship it to my buddy just because too many things have been coming in the mail for me recently, and my parents were getting pissed off.

And I finally receive it... I open the package... and I am horribly confused. He sent me a EP35 NOT an EP45. If you know the difference between the P35 and P45 chipset, you would understand why I'd be pissed off. I spent $135 on an old chipset, which I wasn't looking for in the first place! The worst thing is that I mention it to him, and he says to me "Huh? I THOUGHT YOU KNEW!!!" even though I wrote EP45-DS3R in virtually EVERYTHING I communicated to him. I told him that it wasn't what i wanted, and I truly felt it was HIS mistake.
I realized he wasn't from Ontario, and French was probably his first language, but regardless... own up to your mistake. EP45 in EVERYTHING i communicate vs EP35 in his crazy mind... how can he confuse the two? Regardless, I am a compassionate person so I provide him with some options...
I told him I'd ship it back to him if he refunds my money and pays for the shipping. Or, I'd leave it alone if he'd send me $40. He refused and got hostile, defending the EP35 board and how it's such a great board anyways that I should just be happy and keep it. I then asked him for $20 back or I'll write a thread about my experience, and he refused once again. So I wrote this. I guess $20 was worth more than his rep on RFD. Reading things again, it was a big clue that I'd have a crappy experience, considering that he tells me about the bent NB fins AFTER I send him the money order. i am aware it wouldn't affect performance, however, a truly honest seller would describe the damage on the main thread, not after someone sent you the money for it.

It's very ironic how I felt that he was a great seller. He's not. He's very unsympathetic, arrogant, and I hope he doesn't earn any of your business. I've dealt with many RFDers... not much a poster, but a big trader... just look at my feedback. This transaction was the WORST I've done thus far, hands down. Panzer has accepted ZERO responsibility for this mistake. Please exercise a LOT of discretion if you ever feel like trading with him.
